Transmogri-what?

You've probably heard by now of the recent revelations about the upcoming patch 4.3.

Among other exciting promises, there are to be NPCs who will transmogrify your existing gear to look like other models:
"The "Transmogrifier" NPC will allow players to change the displayed model of equipment to that of another item while keeping the original attributes: Transmogrification is only possible within an armor class - Plate armor can only assume the looks of other Plate armor, for example." (source)
There's been further information released about how the process will work here, at the official blog.

This is rather a sweet concept - pick an armour or weapon model that you liked once upon a time and you can wear that set forever more, just updating the stats as you get upgrades.

They also haven't said what exactly you'll be able to transmogrify to. It seems they are going to let us change to more than just old tier armour, although the plain leather gear doesn't allow a lot of choice. There's something delightfully silly about the idea of healing up a storm wearing an outfit like this, though:

Some of the old tier sets are very awesome, though. Once upon a time in a land far, far away, I had a feral Druid guildie who loved the look of the Tier 5 Nordrassil set and the [Pillar of Ferocity]. He used to keep the shoulders and staff in his bags and wear them around town, because he liked the matching flowery animations.

I've always been rather admiring of the Tier 8 Nightsong set myself, although Leesah never got any of it, so there goes that idea unless I can convince someone to do some Ulduar with me...

Does the Transmogrifier fill you with horror or will you be lining up as soon as the patch arrives?
